Narrowboat insurance

Insure My Boat can provide narrowboat insurance for canal boats and many other types of river vessel. We can give you narrowboat insurance quotes for canal and narrowboats that are moored or used on any UK inland waterway.

With our narrowboat insurance policy you can include marine insurance benefits, which will insure you for any claim made whilst the narrowboat is moored on a marina berth, we will not apply the excess and your no claims bonus will not be affected, if applicable.

Insure My Boat will cover you for single-handed passages not exceeding 24 hours providing the narrowboat is suitably equipped.

Cover to your motors and electrical machinery is covered under loss or damage, this includes motors, electrical machinery and equipment, batteries and their connections resulting from; sudden accidental incursion of water into the narrowboat, directly caused by an identifiable and unexpected occurrence and damage caused by frost, providing manufactures recommendations have been followed.

Many moorings and marinas and similar repair companies require at least third party narrowboat insurance cover before allowing your boat onto their property or taking your boat into their care. If you have invested a lot of money in your boat, you will want to be covered for loss or damage. If you sometimes live aboard, using your boat as a houseboat, you will need cover for your personal effects. We will provide all this, plus £60,000 of personal accident cover for both you and your guests.
