Youths attack vessel with BBQ
Posted on August 04th 2008
Police are treating an attack on a yacht in kingsbridge as criminal damage with intent to endanger life.
The owners of the yacht ‘Zena’ had moored the vessel on Kingsbridge’s new visitors’ pontoon when youths decided to throw beer cans, money and even food at the vessel. They continued by throwing a lit barbeque on to the deck of the yacht which sent burning charcoal covering the vessel.
At the time the owners of Zena were actually aboard and were very shocked by the incident and feared for their lives. But lucky for them the damage was limited to burns on the deck, a spray hood and a mattress.
