Whitby Inquest on hold
Posted on April 18th 2008
The inquest into the deaths of three people, who got into trouble when their motorboat was caught in high seas, has been halted until 16th of July.
The people named as John Carrick, his brother Andrew and Jill Russell were caught in heavy seas, near Whitby harbour, in their 24ft cabin cruiser in November of last year.
The inquest that started on the 15th April heard witnesses claim the small boat was hit by 30ft waves and that they stared in disbelief as first it left the harbour into the seas and then again when it capsized.
All three occupants were rescued from the water but later died in hospital.
The inquest was suspended until the marine accident investigation report findings are published in July.
