Washed up boat blocks villagers
Posted on October 06th 2008
A village in Lancashire was cut off on Saturday morning when the only road out was cut off by a large boat that had been washed up on the Friday night by an incoming tide.
The boat, named Lady Barbara, blocked off villagers living in Sunderland Point, South of Morecambe Bay.
Lancashire Police were alerted at 5am on Saturday 4th October when someone spotted the eight-ton boat in the middle of the road. The road was cleared by 12am, allowing residents to drive in and out of the village.
