Unlicensed boats beware
Posted on November 17th 2008
British Waterways’ officers are now on the look out for unlicensed boats. If you are found to be sailing a boat without a licence, it will then be seized from you.
The trial is taking place in the Yorkshire area and experts say that there are over 2,559 vessels in the Yorkshire waters and there are only a minority of sailors that evade the license law.
Patrol officers will be stopping off at all sites along the Huddersfield narrow cannel, marinas and rivers to check that that have been legally licensed.
So far on the trial over 130 vessels have been seized throughout the UK with at least 10 of those being in the Yorkshire area.
