Top sailor recruited by powerboat series

Former racing director of the Volvo ocean race, Andy Hindley, has joined the powerboat P1 series as race and technical director.
He was with Volvo ocean race for seven years and has had experience of yacht racing when in 1996 he captained the save the children yacht to third place in the BT global challenge and in 2000 was in the crew of the fated team Philips catamaran that sank in the mid-Atlantic during a storm.
Mr Hindley was said to be excited about the opportunity to help develop further the P1 brand and raise the profile of the series to a global level.
