Posted on October 29th 2008
A British Teenager, who is hoping to become the youngest person to sail solo around the world with no stops will be setting off on Sunday.
At the age of 14, Michael Perham was the youngest person in history to sail single handed across the Atlantic, and now at the age of 16 he hopes that he can break a new record by sailing around the world.
Although at present, it is only 50:50 that he will leave on Sunday, as checks have to be made on the equipment that he has, he is very excited and saving all of his energy for Sunday.
The boat that will be used by the young skipper is the former Cray Valley, a Finot-designed open 50 that has been renamed after its main sponsor, totallymoney.com.
