Sea cadets recover stolen boat
Posted on September 08th 2008
A boat, which was stolen back in April, along with 18 Kayaks, paddles and life jackets, was spotted upon a trailer being driven down the M62 at the weekend.
The Merseyside Sea Cadets, who lost their Rigid Inflatable boat had given up hope of recovering the boat after an appeal on BBC Radio Merseyside until the units commanding officer spotted it being driven past him.
As he followed the boat along the motorway, he called the police, the trailer eventually pulled over as it left the motorway, where five police units turned up and arrested the driver.
The Sea Cadets Commanding office commented that his sea cadets are absolutely delighted with his find after spending five months without their boat.
