Posted on May 28th 2008
An Oxfordshire man, who leapt from his burning boat when it turned into a fireball, is back on the waters just a month after his heated ordeal.
The gentleman, from Standlake near Witney was lighting a gas fridge when the boat turned in to a fireball. He jumped out of his boat in to the water and watched his boat burn away whilst members of the public helped him by tipping water on his body, which suffered burns to the back and neck.
The 67 year old has now purchased a new boat and currently adding its finishing touches so that he can continue sailing the county’s rivers.
