Record rise in the price for fuel
Posted on June 13th 2008
It seems that British motorists are driving less following the increase in the price of petrol and diesel over the last year.
Petrol retailers state that the sales have dropped considerably as recent research shows that the demand for it has dropped by as much as 20 in the last 12 months.
People are starting to opt for public transport due to the fact that the cost of petrol is getting higher. The analysis proves some of the first hard evidence that motorists are realising that they have to change their method of transport due to the higher price of fuel.
The problems are not going to stop there. It has been confirmed that a tanker strike will be going ahead. This means that the tankers will be going on strike not delivering to Shell petrol stations. Shell petrol stations are around one in ten petrol stations! The government have stated that we should not bulk buy and continue to buy normally.
The government continued to say that people should only fill up when needed to otherwise the British public will be driving around with full tanks when not needed too.
