RNLI rescue four crew members from sinking boat
Posted on April 12th 2010
Four crew members of a 27ft yacht had to be rescued by the RNLI in the Solent this week after their vessel ran aground. The vessel - Blu Argent had began to sink shortly after a crew member had called for emergency services leaving the crew no choice other than to cling on to the rigging.
Fortunately Yarmouth RNLI were quick to react to the emergency call and arrived to the aid of the four crew. The lifeboat crew managed to rescue two of the stranded sailors while the other two were airlifted and carried safely to nearby ambulances, where they where treated for injuries.
Fortunately no one was seriously injured in the incident and thanks to the heroics and quick response of the RNLI many others have been rescued from their sinking vessels around the UK.
