Photo shoot goes badly wrong in the water
Posted on March 05th 2010
A photographer from Yachting Monthly Magazine has narrowly escaped what could have been fatal injuries while on a routine photo shoot. Graham Snook was out on the water taking photos for a brand new 42ft, 10-tonne power boat when the incident happened. The vessel was cruising the waters at around 35-knots when it span out of control and came speeding towards the photographers boat.
The £300,000 vessel then smashed into the back of Graham's boat missing him by inches, smashing the stern. At this point the boat Graham was on began to sink and the crew had to act quickly in order to return it to the marina.
Graham was taken to hospital for a suspected spinal injury but was later released with major bruising and a few cuts.
He said: "I thought I was going to die. It was no more than a matter of inches away. Suddenly there was light again and I was so happy to be alive. I had a cut on my face, and on my nose, blood on my hands, and there was broken glass everywhere."
