Online toll renewal for boats on the Broads
Posted on February 21st 2012
The Broads Authority has introduced a new online facility for boat insurance policyholders to renew their tolls. It is hoped that the time it takes to renew tolls for boats registered for use on the Broads will be significantly reduced. Users of the new online service will also be able to purchase tide tables through the website and update the location where their vessel is moored.
The process of renewing a toll at the Broads Authority website has been made relatively simple. Visit https://tolls.broads-authority.gov.uk to register, and then you will receive a pin number to access the website in the post. Use the pin number to log in, sign a third party boat insurance declaration, confirm you have a valid boat safety certificate if applicable, and then make the payment for your toll.
Currently only people with boats already registered for use on the Broads can use the online toll service. The Broads Authority has confirmed that the facility will be available for all boat insurance customers in the future, but has not set an exact date when that will be.
