New boat to be named in competition
Posted on August 18th 2008
Traditionally giving a name to a new boat is important and Fairhaven Lake, Flyde is not going to change this tradition.
Two new rowing boats are being added to the large amount of boats already on the lake including motorboats, rowing boats and pedalos.
The people of Flyde are being given the chance to name one of these boats in a competition. Councillor Cheryl Little thinks the competition is a fantastic idea to celebrate the new additions to the lake, which are the first for over 30 years. She continues to say; “This is a great opportunity for residents to leave their mark on a much loved landmark”.
Anyone wishing to enter this competition should send his or her entries to the council labelled ‘boat naming’ or you can e-mail lisening@flyde.gov.uk. The closing date is the end of August.
