New property in London is set to rock the housing market
Posted on January 13th 2010
A new property has come onto the market in one of London's most prestigious areas for a cool £1 million, although this property is not like others in its area. This new property has been hailed as somewhat of a catch in the market as it is in fact a houseboat moored on the river Thames.
The boat measures at 1,388 sq ft making this properties value £720 per square foot, compared to the average price of flats in the area it is almost half the cost.
The three bedroom house on the river has already attracted a lot of interest, which is not surprising as it has a fantastic interior as well as a decent sized pool on deck. The vessel was originally brought in France by the current owners but was then sailed across the channel to bring it to its current mooring.
While the £1 million property may temp buyers, one thing that may put them off is the cost of the mooring, which is not included in the current price tag. A mooring in this area can cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.
