Legal action to remove Ugly boats from the Thames
Posted on April 30th 2008
Councillors of the Royal borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are seeking a court injunction to remove unsightly boats from the council owned island Bridge Eyot in Maidenhead.
It was a unanimous decision to seek legal action after the owners of the boats had failed to heed a request in writing from the council to remove the boats at their earliest convenience.
After six months of inactivity by the boat owners the council has finally lost patience and is seeking the injunction to have the boats removed.
The council believes that the boats have become a blot on the landscape and only drastic action will restore the area to its natural beauty.
