Lake users given voice to speak, just not on the speed limit
Posted on February 22nd 2008
The public consultation on lake Windermere’s byelaws will begin this month, from the 22nd, where most of the lakes rules and regulations will be up for discussion except for the 10 mph speed limit on the 10.5-mile stretch of water that has been in place since march 2005.
The lake district national park authority (LDNPA) are hoping that the review will produce an updated version of the byelaws, collating all the amendments over the years and making some changes and additions to current laws. The public can have their say, anonymously, by filling out an online questionnaire from the authority’s website. An independent research company, who will then report back to the LDNPA, will then evaluate these.
