Boat Insurance News: Jobless teenagers trained to sail
Posted on September 11th 2009
Jobless 17 to 19 year olds in Hull are being provided with a new source of entertainment, as the NHS introduce an initiative to train the unemployed teenagers in how to run a 72 ft vessel.
The infamous scheme, which has been defended by Hull council following controversy from locals, will be funded with the use of £400,000 of tax payer's money in a bid to keep the jobless teenagers off of the city's streets.
The scheme will not only instruct the unemployed in how to sail a boat, but will also teach them first aid, woodwork and metal work, vital skills that will come into good use when looking for a job.
