Green Boat to be sailing canal
Posted on September 05th 2008
A new ‘green’ passenger boat will soon be sailing upon the Wey and Arun canal trust waters after a contract was signed with Colecraft Engineering of Southam in Warwickshire to build a new electric boat.
The boat, which will be named Wiggonholt after sponsors Wiggonholt Association, who are a voluntary organisation that are dedicated to the preservation of rural Sussex, will be built by The Solar Company, to protect and enhance the Natural Beauty of the area in conjunction with other organisations that are currently perusing this aim.
Donations from one of the Trusts members, who have been following the Wey and Arun Canal restoration project, also want the 50 passenger boat to raise awareness of the Wiggonholt Association by carry information about its environmental activities.
