Boat Insurance News: Fishing vessel crashes into small boat putting two lives at risk

A six year old boy and his father have escaped injuries, following an accident which left their small boat being propelled along by a large fishing vessel off of Newquay harbour on Saturday September 12. The accident was witnessed by crowds of people who had turned up to watch the Cornwall County Woman's Pilot Gig rowing championship's; however they had not expected to witness such a horrific accident. One spectator who had been watching the rowing competition was taking photographs when he spotted the fishing vessel coming in to contact with the small boat.
The man on the small boat had caught the photographer's attention due to his unusual rowing technique of standing up. Whilst studying him and trying to take some interesting photographs he suddenly noticed the fishing vessel plough into the side of the boat, tipping it on to its side, throwing the small child and rower into the water.
Once the fishing vessel had realised there mistake from the cries of the hundreds of people who had come to watch the rowing championship, they pulled the man and his child, who had miraculously avoided drowning, to the safety of their fishing boat.
