The event will be open to enthusiasts with craft that are capable of covering a 30-mile course with an average speed of 15 knots.
Competitors will be required to accurately navigate to eight locations, solve a puzzle and answer a nautical question. There will be a BBQ and prize giving to the crew attaining the highest number of points, hosted at the Royal Southern Yacht Club.
Newcomers will have the chance to improve their seamanship, as each team will include a RYA examiner. Entry costs of £20 per boat plus a little something else for the BBQ will be charged, dependent on numbers. Early entry is advisable as the event is being limited to 40 boats.
