DfT gets tough on alcohol
Posted on May 06th 2009
Regulations are to take place, which are intended to enforce imprisonable offences to anyone that has consumed more than the alcohol content of a pint of larger. This is in connection with any navigation or use of a vessel over 7 meters in length or capable of more than 7 knots.
The effect of the new regulations would be to extend the scope of the railways and transport safety act 2003, by introducing similar alcohol restrictions for leisure mariners to ones in place for professionals and for the drivers of road vehicles.
