Celebrities take to the waves

The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race saw several competitors reach the finish line on Tuesday 29th December after a three day race across 628 nautical miles. The LOYAL dubbed the 'celebrity boat' came fourth overall in the race as the famous sports team looked a little worse for wear when they finally docked.
The team consisted of several stars including Olympic gold medalist Grant Hackett, ships navigator David Dickinson and Boxing world Champion Danny Green, all of whom expressed a great relief to be back on dry land after the harrowing three days.
However as Dickinson explained although being used to far drier pastimes, yachting was definitely "glutton for punishment" - a love-hate relationship. He remarked on how well the team had worked together and said the banter between team members definitely helped keep up morale.
The skipper of the celebrity boat Sean Langman said that the first part of the boat race had gone well for the crew, but eventually they had met some hairy moments which had cost them a top spot in the race. They had hoped for a "bit of luck and a breeze" to help to see them to the winning post, but unfortunately lady luck had not graced them with an appearance.
Some of the celebrities including Phil Waugh and Phil Kearns said that they would like to be back next year for the race as missing out on one of the top two spaces was a definite reason to return and to try their luck again!
