Canoe Lifting Kit to take the strain
Posted on March 10th 2008
Can you Experience, an outdoor water sports company, and Glasgow Caledonian university have joined forces to develop a piece of kit that lifts canoes in and out of the water, to ensure that going for a row is less of a strain on the arms.
Employees at loch Lomond first initiated the design, which has been worked on since the end of last year, to aid with the lifting of their canoes, which weigh around 90 lbs each and on busy days they are unloading at least 30 canoes at a time.
They are hoping that this piece of kit will make a difference to the water sports workforce at the Loch in aiding them with growing numbers wanting to enjoy canoeing and experience Lock Lomond.
