British Sailors prepare for Olympics
Posted on March 20th 2008
The British Sailors that are competing in this years Olympics in Beijing are looking to loose on average a tenth of their body weight.
The average wind speed at the time of the Olympics this year will be approximately six knots and so they have been put on the strict regime to enable them to counter the light winds expected.
Sailors have been put on their own tailored diets that are low in fat and high in protein. They are also having to stick to a strict exercise regime which includes 2 hours of cycling every morning before breakfast.
Along with loosing around 2-8 Kg each, they will also be equipped with lighter clothing and sail cloths. At some points the tide will only run up to 2 knots and so if the team are too heavy they wont be winning.
