Boat break-in leaves owner distraught
Posted on June 15th 2009
Yesterday between 8.40am and 5.30pm at Norwich Yacht Station, thieves forced their way into a moored boat and helped themselves to a laptop and a Nokia 6300 mobile.
The owner is said to be “extremely upset” as the laptop contained items of great sentimental value. Police are asking for members of the public to come forward with information of any unusual behaviour, or if they witnessed the robbery. Anyone with any information should call Detective Constable Mick Andrews on 0845 456 4567.
It is the policy of a wide range of UK boat mooring locations for boat owners to have insurance for their vessel. This is to ensure that the owners are covered for situations such as this and also for the third party liability that comes with owning a boat.
News brought to you by Insure My Boat, with third party and theft cover offered you can be sure to cover yourself for these circumstances.
