Boat Insurance News: Boat destroyed in blaze

An investigation is to be launched after £200,000 worth of damage has been caused at Kip Marina on Saturday morning. The majority of the damage was contained to 1 boat but two others have received heat damage from the intensity of the flames.
The yacht known as Freya has been rendered completely destroyed by the flames, at this point it is not known what started the blaze. An insurance assessor was to sift through the wreckage in order to determine the cause of the fire, early suggestions are that it could have been caused by an electrical or gas fault.
The fire was believed to break out at around 6.50am when locals called it in to the local fire department whp were quick to respond. It took a team of firemen around an hour to extinguish the blaze only to find the boat completely destroyed.
