Arsonists destroy a devotedly restored Canal Boat
Posted on April 23rd 2008
A Canal Boat, named Dizzy, has been destroyed by arsonists in Manchester, after they tried to break in to the vessel, once they had trespassed on to the dock in which it was stored.
The boat, which cost £50,000 had been restored by John Lund and his late father to be rented out to family and friends.
The fire has left the boat impossible to repair after it destroyed the roof and the intense heat warped the steel.
Although the boat was insured, it was worth emotional value as his late father helped him with the restoration and was used by friends and family all over the world, from Australia to South Africa so that they were able to explore the area.
