007 Boat Secrets revealed by Moore
Posted on August 20th 2008
Superstar Roger Moore has revealed some of the James Bond stunts that he had to do including the most famous stunt that almost left him crippled when the steering on a speedboat failed on him.
Moore is soon to release his memoirs, ‘My word is Bond’, in which he talks about the famous scene in Live and Let Die where the former 007 agent drove a speedboat through a wooden boat house. This stunt was actually a terrifying stunt gone wrong.
Moore explains, “I did quite a few run-throughs to practice and, whilst banking on one such run, the engine cut out. I had no steering! I therefore continued in a straight line…directly into a wooden boat house”.
Moore remembers the incident being thrown from the boat injuring his knee and cracking his teeth.
He added, “ There I was, as fearless 007, hobbling on a cane to my boat and then pretending to be indestructible for the cameras. Who says I can’t act?”.
